The Wintershutdown and Summershutdown Festival has been organised young people involved in the Youth Arts Takeover project based within Goodwin Development Trust. This is a two year arts and events project with the main focus to get young people to help co-design and deliver amazing arts events.
We also aim to encourage local people from the Thornton Estate in Hull to engage with the arts more. Covid restrictions has limited what we can do during 2020 in person, but we hope many people from the estate watch the festival.
Youth Arts takeover empowers young people between 16-29 within Hull to get involved with the arts. This can be within an event or through some of our supplementary arts activities, this includes : video game design, story writing, photography, journalism, magazine publication, photography, music and videography. see our website and social media to find out more
